While a VM is Suspended it’s IP address lease may expire and the IP address will be allocated to someone else.
When the VM is Powered ON after being Suspended it still has the original IP address and therefore has an IP address conflict with the “someone else”.
This can cause problems for the “someone else” and the original VM.
It can also cause problems with cached DNS entries on other peoples PC’s
Is there anything we can do avoid this problem?
Can we force the Suspended VM to attempt “renew” its IP address when it is Powered ON?
Is there a vmWare “wakeup” script file we do this in?
