At the moment we have a single vCenter instance with two datacenters corresponding to the geographical location of the ESX servers. We have merged with another organisation which also runs vSphere and is at a third geographical location. Does anoyone have any advice so far as merging the infrastructures? We could:
1. Run the two organisations as separate vCenters and use linked mode for single screen management of both
2. MIgrate the hosts in the smaller organisation to the larger one's vCenter and use a single vCenter instance
Aside from licensing, what other configuration changes (networking and storage) are required for option 2 (or is the network and storage configuration preserved in the migration between vCenters)
