Hi All,
We have 02 linux web servers (VMs) on a ESX 4.1 host. Now we have a new platform built by using vSphere 5.1 ESXi with fail over cluster facility (02 physical servers) installed with vCenter. The new setup and installation done by the data center suppot team for us.
I am a person with very basic knowledge VMware. I have only used VMware ESX 4.1 for basic management such as restart, change setting for a vm etc..
So I have the mission to move above 02 VMs from ESX 4.1 host to the new vSphere cluster. I have all the login and everything to the vCenter. I also installed the newest vSphere client on my local machines.
Live or Cold migration is fine. According to the data center guys live migration is not supported the versions I am using.
Could some one tell me how to start this task? What sort of tool I will need? What sort of steps I should follow?
