I am trying to perform an installation onto a new W2K8 R2 SP1 system:
Xeon processor (2+ GHz, dual core), 4GB RAM, over 250GB on data drive and 33GB system disk.
The error returned when attempting to install SQL 2008 express is:
SQL installation aborted: Error code 3903422557.

I've check all the conditions in the installation documentation and all are there with one exception (and I'm checking "that the NETWORK SERVICE account is required on the folder in which vCenter Server is installed and on the HKLM registry" although it never gets to this part.
As the installation of SQL is going onto the system disk, and I have over 25GB free, space should not be a problem. (C: = 33GB)
Any help would be appreciated as ther eis nothing on the interwebs about this error that is close to what I am seeing.
