Memory counter to be used for checking Guest Machine's actual memory usage?

Hello

I've been looking into Guest VM's memory performance counters, which confused me alot. Here is a question that pop-ups in my mind:-

Considering:-

1) In one machne I checked "average memory utilization in percent" which not at all matches with the usage I'm seeing inside the machine using windows task manager. Almost 90% of memory is utilized per task manager while in VC it just shows me around 14%

2) Active memory in kb's is also nowhere nearby to memory I actually see being utilized in the guest machine.

3) In another machine I see Memory consumed in kb's is exactly equal to Memory granted in Kb's whereas I see almost 50% of memory is available per windows task manager.
