vSphere 5.5 - vCSA - Inventory Database issues

Hello, i have what i hope will be a simple question - I have a small vSphere 5.5 deployment that is using the vCSA virtual appliance.

Our Vcenter inventory was coming up empty, so i used the instructions here, to recreate the Inventory DB.

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2037952

Now when i connect to the web client, i get the following. "Client is not authenticated to the Vmware inventory service - https://<vcenter IP>:10443"

Some other info that maybe helpful

  • The inventory service is running on the vCSA
  • i'm logging into the web client using the administrator@vsphere.local account
  • the instructions in that tech article have this as one of the steps. - /usr/lib/vmware-vpx/inventoryservice/scripts/ds-invoke.sh -Dvim.logdir=/var/log/vmware/vpx/inventoryservice com.vmware.vim.dataservices.CreateDb /storage/db/inventoryservice/data changeme default changeme Note: The database password is changeme.- But i'm not sure what i need to do with this info? Do i need to change a user account internally on the vCSA to use this new password for the inventory DB?
