Performance Data Missing, GAPS in chart data

Anyone have this issue where data seems to always log fine in realtime, but when you look historically there are large gaps:

SQL Server 2008R2 is the back end database, Vcenter 5, Vsphere 5 ESXi

Any thoughts would be greatly apprecaited
