We have a strange situation that started several weeks ago. Every friday morning DRS is migrating several VMs from our primary site to a secondary site and then a few minutes later they migrate back to the primary site. It happens at exactly 35 minutes after the hour, doing a few every hour starting at 6:35 AM and continuing throughout the day till 3:35 or 4:35. It can be anywhere between 1 and 5 - 6 machines in any given hour. Sometimes it will skip an hour or two.
I've looked at the log files in the drdump folder but don't know much about interpeting them. I see proposed actions with a reason 'Update host settings to reflect DRM shares" which I believe is what is causing the migration to the secondary sites. In others I see "Fix soft vm/host affinity rule violation' which I think is the migration back to the primary site.
I understand the migration back to the primary site. That is what we want. But I would like to understand what is causing the migration to the secondary site in the first place.
Can someone tell me how I can go about determining what is happening?
Thanks.
